Hello

I had one yellow tang in my already as it was doing great eat all pellets etc.

Just yesterday I got one more from my friend of equal and same seize. I added him to the same tank 40 breeder when the lights were switched off. This morning i saw the old one chasing the new one and all this fins getting teared.

Is this normal behavioir among yello tanq or its high time to remove one of them and keep it seperately as I feeling the old one might kill the new ones.

Or this behavior or chasing will it be over in a day or two.

Let me know

Thanks.

The behaior will be over soon but not for the reason you may want. One of them will likey kill the other. Aggression in tangs occurs when there are territorial disputes due to lack of space.

A 40 breeder is not large enough to successfully house one yellow tang. Adding a second one is even worse. It is not advised to put two tangs of the same genus in the same tank unless the tank is MUCH larger than what you have. Please re-home these fish before they die.

You will always find the "but it worked for me!!!!" guy on the internet, but by and large she is right. You'd do best to re-home one, if not both.

Agree 100% with everything Stacy said.

Respectfully suggest removing both. They need a lot of swimming space, and a 40 is too small.

Wow...we have the most polite tang police I've ever seen .........kudos.

+ 1 Do what is best for the fish, you will be unhappy if you don't! Some don't care if they live or die, they just want to see if you can do it and make a fish be happy in a tank too small for it!:D
