No it's not contagious. It's a chronic condition, not transmittable. Tangs and angels seem to be the most prone to it, but once I even had a tomato clown brought to me with it (horrible water it was in). The clown bounced back 100% - no residual scarring.
I have a collection of "ugly" tangs that have been brought to me over the years. Most never regain their original beauty - some look a bit better, some still look like h - e - double hockey sticks even years later, but they don't get worse.
There's no danger to your existing fish if you take that one in.
