Has anyone keep a zebra moray and shrimp in the same aquarium? I've had my zebra moray for about 4+ years and feed primarily frozen shrimp. He has never been fed live food under my care, and I haven't seen him go after my hermits. I wanted to introduce maybe coral banded shrimp or cleaners in the future without having to get rid of him.

Never tried it or seen it, and I bet there's a reason. It'll be an expensive snack for the eel.

They are primarily crustacean eaters. IMO too much temptation to risk it.

I have seen a snowflake kept with an uber-mean coral banded shrimp, but I wouldn't recommend that either. They were just lucky I think, and the shrimp was just mean enough.

I had shrimps with my zebra moray for 3+ years. The only invert that it went after was an emerald crab I dropped in. I had peppermint and cleaners and all types of hermits and snails and had no problems..... the cleaners pretty much were always on the eel, went in his mouth and everything.
