I have some zoas that hitched on some LR. (yes I'm sure they're not aiptasia or mojano). I really didn't think these things would survive, much less start growing. Does anyone have suggestions on a safe removal. They are starting to encroach upon an echinata frag.

I have used tweezers with success

I thought about using aiptasia-x. I wondered if it was bad idea or not. Regarding tweezers ive heard that zoas and paly's can be toxic when stressed. I want these things out but im not trying to send myself to the hospital or kill my tank in the process.

If it is possibly, break off the part of the the rock that the Zoas are on. I'd try it with bone cutters.

I may try and chisel them out. Only thing is I'd hate to break away some rock and end up with a rock slide. With my luck it'll happen.

What about smothering them? Possibly with some epoxy or even glueing maybe some small rubble rock tightly over them?

You won't nuke you tank, and you'll be safe as long you dont have any open wounds or cuts. I was cut while trying to yank out some teal palys.... that was quite an experience.

mysterybox has the right idea kalk is like a miracle poison kills what you want and not what you dont want lol when i use kalk to kill aptesia i turn off all flow to the tank wait a min to let any current settle then go in with a tiny bit of kalk past in a syringe and cover whatever im trying to kill and the area immediately around it then wait 5 mins and turn the flow back on and presto chango no more pest

Kalk it is! Just curious if I'd get the same results with aiptasia x. I have some already but I'd need to get some kalk.

Just get pickling lime from your grocery store and make a paste.
