135 rimless DIY

me too prob, You want some room for your hands if you get into trouble as well

Done, left about 2" clearance all around the holes, with the bulkheads in there looks enough for a wrench

Awesome, I was just talking with some friend neighbor to help me move the tank inside the house and I should be ready for plumbing

Pm me an address where I can pick it up please

Thanks again for being super nice with all this

Actually, I think Marineland overflow kits come with instructions to use a pair of channel locks and tighten 1/4 turn past hand tight. that being said, I don' think it is necessary either.

What pipe size and bulkheads can I use with spiral flex hoses? I picked up a couple yesterday and I can force 1" pipe in them but I think I got the wrong size bulkheads for the sump side then.

i have the same tank water staines and all i love mine
i personally would leave the brace... more peace of mind

I would shoot for a water level of 1"to 2" lower than the top edge. How are you going to modify the overflows to allow a lower water level?

I think I'm already at 1" below the rim, check the last pic in the previous post. I thought about routing a few of the baffles to go even lower. The real test will be with the return pump on.

I actually have 2 already for that tank, I'll put them in that big wave mode and invent a new water changing method :)

tank is inside on the stand :))

plumbing is done no major leaks :)

I filled it with fresh water and I think I may have to lower the overflow baffles a bit. What's the best tool to do this, I'm thinking a dremel maybe?

I installed it but I'm not sure if it's powerful enough, there's very little flow out of the 4 nozzles. I was thinking about removing the Y from the returns.

Also it's really loud, I have it on 2 layers of foam but it's sending the vibrations to the sump.

It's good enough to get me started, thanks again

Can't really cut the stand, I have pond liner at the bottom of the stand to help with minor leaks then another layer of foam that goes under the sump too. I'll look for a softer material to add under the pump.

this is sort of the look I'm going for

may change after the meeting :)

had the same problem. your intake is choked off. open it up and the output will improve.

I installed my overflow combs. I ended up ordering 3 and I cut them to fit, they look really nice plus I can move the combs higher if I want higher water level
