135 rimless DIY

and finally, water in the tank!!!

I'm excited this is harder and taking longer than I thought but I love every bit of it.

should I be leaving it to fill overnight? it's a 110 gal/day RO unit

I'd check it through the night (I'm paranoid about that kind of stuff)...... but you'll probably be fine..

looks good man!

As soon as the water level hits 6"+ I'd throw a powerhead in there and start mixing salt, since it will probably take a while.

I would leave it overnight, it should be fine.

Also it's really loud, I have it on 2 layers of foam but it's sending the vibrations to the sump.

It's good enough to get me started, thanks again

Your sump/fuge should be ran SLOOOOOOWWWWW flow, maybe somewhere around 600 to 800 gph. Your flow will be coming from the 2 MP40s.

that pump is rated at 1200gph I think so I'm probably around there.

there's nothing in the sump/fuge yet but I'm thinking DSB and macro algae to sort of use it like the magic mud stuff. First chamber will have a bunch of Seachem Matrix too.

good news is that as of this morning the tank is full and salt is mixing :)

I have to isolate and kill some noises but I think I know what the problem spots are, the return elbow small hole that should be under water

no rock wall here :)

Lol so true

Assault you don't understand because you missed the meeting. I emailed a pic to Scott Fellman and he likes it

all is well, I moved some big corals that can live under my temp lights and a pair of misbars from the other tank.

Looking good bud, keep it up...ill be following your build thread while mines out of commission.

well here's pics of progress then, I installed the skimmer that came with the tank, don't like it a lot but it will do for now.

I added 2 more fish on sunday, a Chevron and a Labouti Wrasse. Got them together and they're buddies now swimming together and eating great. Sorry for the bad pic but they're both fast fish and I have bad lights

Found this bug on the glass just like another member a few days ago

Also maybe a mod can move this in the member's tanks area I'm mostly done with the DIY piece :)

I've been watching this build from the start and I like it a lot. Great work on the rimless feature. I also like the aquascaping. You even have room to add the speciment you have on your avatar :)

thanks for all the compliments, here's a fresh FTS for ya

the tang has an appetite for cleaning rocks so I moved a piece from the seahorse tank for him to clean up that's why I have an extra piece

also I decided today that this will be my only tank soon, I want to spend more time with my family this winter so once I get some decent LED lights I'll move the RSM250 livestock in here and find a new owner for the seahorses aquapod. Freshwater tank is on the way out already. Tough decision but I can't spend all my afternoons between tanks.

I guess my tanks will have to grow with her, my old avatar was a pic of my daughter in the 65gal RSM250 now she's in the 135 with some room to spare but if she's like her dad a 6ft tank will not be big enough in the future. I'm starting to like this big tank thing, probably because I haven't changed the water yet :)
