finally the tank is full and there is salt in the water i have a 100lbs of live sand a rubermade container for a temp sump 2 koralia 3 and 100lbs of agra alive reef sand here are the pics so far tomorrow i am going t add sand so if anyone aroun me has a skimmer that i can borrow please let me know i would apreciate it thanks for looking now for the pics

not yet i just started today tomorrow the sand storm and then wen the lr the its cycle time from there

ill give u hint about the sand i just added a dsb to my tank and prevented a sand storm. just get a cup and take it to the bottom of the tank keep it covered up. and just set it up there the water will be cloudy for only 6 hours. i added 6 inches of sand into my tank.

no i juscut the bag in the water and it shouldnt be bad the cloudiness will come from the saltwater in the bag i did this in my 12gal nano and it worked great

what kind of lights are you using ?

i dont have lights yet but im thinking of goiong all t5 6 48" of 2 250 hqi with 3 or 4 t5 actinic

What size pump is that on your return? Looks like a Mag 5

Interesting...I'm using the same pump on my 55 right now. I'm planning on going with a mag 9 or mag 12 for my 90 upgrade. I was wondering if either would be overkill.

i would be the last one to tell you that i think for one overflow box the 5 is probably almost like a universal fit i guess cause to my knowledge the are the same overflow box i think that once you have two thing change besides that you want all your flow from you ph or cl

I would think that flow is flow regardless of if it comes from your return, powerheads, or closed loop. I don't think there really is a difference from where the source is whether it's the sump or tank. I would think that filtered water from the sump would be better to return to the tank faster than slower.

But I'm sure someone with experience will chime in soon:up:

i would go with t5's less heat. I have halides and they put out alot of heat
