90 Watts of T5 for a 24 JBJ?

I was wondering if 90 watts of t5, 45 460nm, and 45 10000k. I currently have 72 watts of PC. So do you guys think the 90 of t5's would be sufficient for sps? Would you all recommend a bunch of single tube 9 watts or 1 or 2 bigger watt bulbs? Comparing b/w the Slimpaq 9watt Current modell 1101, or a retro fit kit of some sort. I have a custom built hood to hide everything in. Thanks for your time and input.

If you go the T-5 route, make sure they have individual reflectors and high output lamps, otherwise its just like having any old tube in the hood. As far as whether or not it's enough light, I'm not really sure. I have 48 watts over a tank thats only 8 inches deep and I have Green and Pink Birdsnest.

If I had the 24gl, I would put a 150watt metal halide over it if you want to keep a lot of SPS. Just my 2 cents. Happy reefing and good luck!

I just got an offer on a Corallife 150watt clamp on for $100. Is that a good deal it has about 6-8months of use on the light? thanks

I'd say that's a good deal. I haven't heard much about them, but the Viper clamp ons seem to get good reviews. And Coralife makes reputable products, I just haven't had experience with their clamp on halides, but for a $100, thats a good deal for a halide.

See if someone that has had this particular light will chime in or just do some searchin around.

I was just joking... I've heard good stuff about the new ones, and frankly the only other light I'd put over this cube is the Coralife Disco ball (due to decor in the room)... and I can't find a used one, nor can I justify the bucks for a new one.

Oh, and on my 90g I like the Phoenix 14Ks a lot.
