When acclimating SPS, is it better to err on the side of too much light or not enough? Why? Any experiences to share?

no clue as I've never had one bleach from light as far as I know....I have 2, 400 watt radiums on a 90....

If it bleaches out it is dead. If it browns out it can be resuscitated.

Depends on the defintion of "bleaching," I think izoid and Amici are thinking it means the flesh falling off and seeing white skeleton, while I think it's the coral losing its pigment under too high of light.

Obviously the first defintion is worse, but if the second one is in play, I'd say browning--corals take forever to color back up from browning. Recovering from bleaching can be done in a month or so.

Thanks guys! I think I will go with a lesser amount of light if I'm in between a couple spots.
