I have been scoping out a atlantic blue tang, vlamengi tang and a naso tang at a LFS. I am going to go get 1 of the 3 today but am not really sure of the corect way to acclimate and how long to acclimate for???

HELP!!!:confused2:

What size tank do you have? Those fish get pretty large.

Jenn

A small specimen of any of those may be OK for a while in a 125, but I recommend having an "exit plan" for if/when they outgrow your tank. All of those are capable of growing to a size well beyond what your tank can have them be comfortable in.

Cheers,
Jenn

Should all newly bought fish be in QT before introduced in the display tank?
Probably shouldnt say this but i have never done that before, i just let them drip for a few hours and then put them in and have had no problems.

Do you reccomend any other fish?

I currently have small yellow tang, eight line wrasse, clarki clown, scooter blenny, lawnmower blenny, purple lobster.

There is a potential for conflict between the yellow tang and another tang.

Beware that purple lobster - they can become fish predators.

Your acclimation technique sounds fine, but I would definitely recommend quarantining all new fish acquisitions before adding them to the display. Tangs in particular are prone to parasites.

Here's an article I wrote concerning quarantine:

Great article, Thanks

And yes the lobster is a predator, he has gotten huge since i got him a year ago.
