aiptasia? feather dusters?

I think I have hydroids as well, feels like they are provided by AO, considering u me and James have them. what are the down side of having these. At first thought they look as they simply filter feed

They spread fast don't look pretty. Other then that they aren't like Armageddon in your tank. Just take your time and kill them off of the rock that does have them. Of course I have never had them so I can't say weather they are really bad or good.

Do you think it would be okay to use a turkey baster/boiling water to blast the last one? Or will the boiling water hurt my anemone as well?

I would use some apoxy or aptasia x to kill the aptasia. I think using boiling water that close to the anemone would cause it to move or could possibly hurt it.

I may pick some aiptasia x up. Does it not hurt other anemones? I assume as long as the BTA doesn't consume it... it should be fine?

That should work on the aiptasia. Just turn off your mp10 (I literally just ordered one, should be here soon!) If you try some of he aiptasia x on the hydroids could you let me know the results?

I would personally use joe's juice. For some odd reason I never had good results with aiptasia X. Seems like they always came back. Then I used Joe's juice, took care of it. Also you could make a kalk paste and that would take care of both the aiptasia and the Hydroids...

I boiled all the rocks that I saw either aiptasia or hydroids and that did the trick on the hydroids. At the time... I didn't have anything on the rocks so it was easy to take them out and pour boiling water on them.

I only didn't boil two rocks, and one of those had some aiptasia on the underside I didn't see. I may try either aiptasia x or the joes juice to take care of it!

Congrats on the mp10, you will love it.

Thanks. I'll prob boil also as we are both is starting off our rimless cubes! Hit me up next time you are in atown for some frags and bronsons

Do you think the joe's juice will mess with my anemone if it is so close to it?

If it's close enough that you would be worried then yes. At that point I would try and remove the nem from the rock and then nuke the whole rock. I know that may suck but for the best of the nem to not get hit with the joe's juice or aiptasia x I would relocate the nem and then nuke the rock afterwards.
