I bought a huge Aqua Medic 5000 Calcium reactor 3 years ago, have it ready to go, but no motivation to install it for fear of a tank annihilation again because of a stupid mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

I'm just fearful because I don't know how and don't want a catastrophe to happen. I have a Ph computer also but don't know how it works.

Nor have I delivered it... you tell me when you want to meet and I'm good with it!

I just sealed a crack on mine and plan on setting it up in the next few weeks. I have to go get a new controller, and refill my co2 tank.

If it was me, I'd set up a separate tank, stock or Rubber Maid, and connect the calcium reactor to it. Then you could test/play with it without worrying about crashing your system.

do this, I just spent a month trying to get mine tuned and ended up not being able to keep a constant flow rate. Killed ALOT of my sps due to the massive fluctuations in alk levels:yuk:

so until I can get a variable dosing pump built Im back on 2 part.

Good idea, Bud. I may try it. I just wish I knew what it's supposed to be runnung at because I haven't got a clue.

I have been wanting to write a Primer of Calcium Reactor Setup and Tuning. I've helped probably 10-15 people do this via PM, so I thought I might write it up. Stay tuned.
