Anemone in a nano??

I have a 10 gal setup with two ocellaris clowns and a yellow watchman. I have always loved to watch clowns when they are paired with an anemone. I have been told more than once that I shouldn't put an anemone in my tank. I don't have any other corals in the tank for it to sting. I have T5 HO lighting. Is there an anemone that would be suitable for such a small tank?

I have a rose bubble tip anemone in a 5.5 gallon rimless star fire tank. It also has a pair of black clowns and prob 15 high end sps and zoas in it. I say if I can do u can do it for sure.

Just keep a closeveye on it all

With T5, you should be able to keep any nem without any issues I have your normal run of the mill one in my daughters 10g with a 70W Halide. Lots of fun

everyone who has tried to tell me that I shouldn't put an anenome in my tank has cited that they grow too big. Is there a certain species that is smaller, still hardy and safe for my tank?

They are all safe for you tank...just not safe for corals If you plan on keeping other corals in the tank, then a nem in that size tank, isn't a good idea. I believe there are mini carpet nems...not too sure about them though. I've kept every other nem in the trade. They will all get large, however, the ones in my nano, always seem to be good size for the tank. Not directly feeding them will help keep them small, but like any animal, they will grow. Worst case, take it out, cut it and sell the other half.

I have had a green bubble tip in my 12 gallon nano cube for over a year. It is no where near to big for the tank. Bubble tips will generally stay smaller then long tentacles.

i have a GBTA (the one in my avitar) that is nearly 16" across when it opens up fully..

they can get big... i'm just sayin'

I have two in myten gallon. A rbta and a gbta. Both are fine just chop it if it's to big

If I were you I'd go with the Rose Bubble Tip, They also come it white, bright green and I think Blue but not sure about the Blue. I may be thinking of a Blue Carpet Anemone

So would a rbta be good in a Biocube 29 then? just asking because I've always wanted one. (The tank isnt setup yet, but once it is in the coming week or so, should i put the nem in first before the corals once the tank cycles so the nem can choose its preferred spot?)

They would be more than fine. If interested, I have a RBTA and a GBTA I'm looking to sell. I paid $40 each for them a few months ago. I'll take $50 for both.

Ive kept a few in my nano as well, i think people say there not suitable because they get larger, move around, are easier to get sucked up, and the worst is if they die they will quickly kill your entire setup

If you have no skimmer on this small tank, plan to do small weekly waterchanges and run Seachem Purigen. The nem will thank you!

Sounds like you're good to go with any bubbletip of your choice.

I also have a 14 gallon with a rose bubble tip without any problems. I agree with the previous posts, if it gets too big divide it. The one I have is actually a split from my larger tank. Its been there about a month now, still waiting for the clown to host. So far, no problems with the other corals.
