Personally, I prefer the starry blenny as they are more attractive (known to make me lol too)
Just be aware that they (larger blennies) may bully smaller blennies.
So if you want more than one type blenny, introduce the smaller one first so it can settle in.

Are dead, the surviving one is relegated to the frag QT and seems to be doing well in there. I honestly want a mostly coral tank with only a few, carefully selected fish. The purchase was a judgement error which I will hopefully not repeat!

I have to disagree! The LFS darned sure should have known that chromis will do this, and should have asked what you were doing when you tried to by multiples. That's what they're there for, dang it!!!
