Yea - the lost city of Atlantis. Santorini was a bigger island before a big volcanic explosion, and may have been the site of the original myth.
The main reason for the trip is that I turn 50 on Thursday, and we have accumulated 660,000 points on American Express that we are going to burn through before the airlines make it even harder to use. Our two older kids are going to watch our two younger kids for a week as their birthday present to me. If all works out, the flights and hotels will all be covered by the points. We go to Santorini, then Athens for a day, then Prague for a few days for a total of one week. I have never been to either place. I figure I get a vacation like this every 50 years.
Santorini is very romantic (but very expensive). One of Zack's best friends in college lives there and suggested it. We will scope it out for you. It appears pretty relaxing and low key. Not much other than drinking Greek wine and watching the sunset over the Aegean Sea.
Margi really is a wiz at finding these places - amazing hotels, airfares, etc. She is a female version of Clark Howard. She literally is already packed and we don't leave until the 19th. I just have to show up and try not to complain about all the money I am spending.
