Glenn of SpikesCorals fame came and looked today and gave me some really great advice. This was way out of expectation and truly appreciated. What a great guy! I can tell you where my coral will come from once my tank is mature enough! Anyway....I have a couple problems...

1. Water coming in is very strong and creating bubbles even with a sock. Based on Glenn's recommendation I am going to add a piece of PVC with rock in it and drill holes in it so that the water will drain through the rock popping the bubbles.

2. I am also going to raise the water level in the sump to aid in the bubbles coming from the skimmer.

Thank everyone for working with me on this. I will let you know how it goes once I have the modifications in place.

Brian here is a link showing Melev's reef bubble tower. I told you I used PVC with holes drilled in it(cheap version). But it worked for me.

Thanks Glenn! I need to now also thank Jeremy at SEA. He had me try to lower the GPH rate of my MAG 7 pump. I installed a ball valve and turned it down a touch and I am bubble free without the skimmer on. I think I am going to do the bubble tower approach as Glenn mentioned for that. I am now up and running bubble free! Thank you all for the help!

i would make sure that all of your loc line is in the water. they can suck in air. I know mine did that on my first setup and it drove me crazy trying to find it...
