Well all I know is Anthony Calfo personally told me that and explained it in depth. I tend to believe him. So if you think that is crazy then I guess it is what it is. It has to do with the nutrients already being broke down as apposed to the coral having to break it down itself. He has done far more research on this subject than any of us I promise. I'm not saying to feed 10x a day but considering most reefers feed very very sparingly, There is a benefit to feeding more and coral growth plus your fish will benefit also. Hey but what do I know about growing corals LOL

I know you're just making a point, but there's two sides to everything. Theoretically, if you wanted to, you could feed your fish 10x per day and still maintain a healthy system. What's the other side of that, though? You'd then have to have a huge skimmer and do at least once daily water changes in order to export the extra nutrients.

Just because John didn't specify an exact amount of feeding, doesn't mean it's wrong. However, I think it should be said that an increase in feeding almost always necessitates an increase in nutrient-exporting maintenance.
