Apex working within my network at home. But it won't work when I'm away from home using my phone data.how do I put apex online so I could connect from anywhere using my phone.
Please help! Thanks

Most likely, it's behind a router in your house that keeps it from being accessible from outside your home network (which is a great thing). To change that, you'd have to go into your router's advanced settings to open up a pass-through. It's even more complicated than it sounds :)

Search for "Apex Port Forwarding"..

Example:

Neptune Apex Programming - Setting up Port forwarding to access your Apex Via Web - YouTube

Port forwarding is easy as long as you don't try and over complicate it. What you need to do is search on the web for port forwarding for your router model. Also the apex default port is 80 I believe. I would change that a lot of isps block port 80 now you can change it to like 122 then in your router under the port forwarding section there will be a place to put that port number and the IP of the apex. Once that is done you need to find out what your wan IP address is. You can do a Google search for what's my IP it will give you the address then you put your wan IP like this in a browser xx.xx.xx.xx:122 or whatever port you used. If everything is set up right you should get a login from your apex

Are you trying to access via your phone's browser or the Apex app? If your using the Apex app, you need to configure the WAN info to match your router info. If you're using the browser you need to enter the routers IP address. Can't just type Apex like you do at home.

He is correct. Portforwarding will be your solution.

Make sure you install the Apex app as well. I've never had success accessing it via web browser on my phone.

Also: What happens when you search for instances of Apex with your phone?

FYI - I am able to access via the app or the browser from my phone. Advantage to the browser is that it imbeds the web cam, which the app does not.

Make sure you fill in the "WAN" fields in the Apex app controller set up. Should be 3 fields

SSID - Name of your home wifi network
WAN Host - Public IP address or DDNS of your router/modem.
WAN port - Public IP Port that you have forwarded in your router's port forwarding. (could be the same 80 as the internal por or different depending on how you set things up)

Definitely post #14 helped. Also post #8 helped alot too
Thanks again.

The actual IP address is the one given by ISP...
PORT FORWARDING is 122....have to set this number on your router advance setup.

ApexControllerIP is configured 192.168.1.50
PORT :122

Open APEX on iphone app and fill out the given IP address by ISP. You can find out this IP address by type in http://www.whatismyip.com">www.whatismyip.com on your web browser. Might have to set this IP to static IP so it won't change on you.

Then port 122
Then it should prompt for username :apex
password: for example 1234

it should open up.

Just an FYI for future reference. You don't have to match the port numbers when forwarding. So you could have left the Apex on port 80 so forwarding would be pu.bl.ic.IP:122 >> 192.168.1.50:80
