Here's a good article to start on.

been dosing vodka for 3 months up to 5ml per day although i have a 75 gal FOWLR it keeps the algae at bay and reduces phoshourous and nitrates . but i like the way the skimmer works much more effecient and cheaper than a reactor

somebody at the fish store in chamblee told me to go melevsreef.com to learn how to vodka dose the pictures that are posted there are very dramatic . you can see the difference it makes when doing this correctly but like everything else in a reef aquarium it takes time. all the charts and amounts are available there also.

I've been carbon dosing since 2006, the last 5 or so years vodka. I'll be happy to answer any question anyone has. 10ml per say 90% of the time.

carbon dosing AND weekly GFO and ROX carbon changes?? That sounds about as Ultra Low as any ULN system I've ever heard....

I have been dosing Vodka for 7 weeks and up to 5.6 ml per day and I get the nitrate down to 25 ppm from 100ppm. There is still ways to go but heading in the right direction.

I feed a lot of enriched food...multiple times a day...

Read his build thread, it's awesome!!!!(except for the part where he threw me under the bus)

I never got past 3mls a day. I'm at 1.5mls a day on a 90 gallons system and this helps me maintain my nitrates at 2-4ppm. The othe side benefit is the ability to feed your tank a lot heavier than normal. The link posted above is the link I used a followed it to the letter. I think the horror stories you hear on CD are peeps that get in a hurry and OD their tank. Follow the instructions and after 3-4 weeks you will see your trates drop then set your maintenance dose and rock on.

It has made my corals happier than anything else. I don't have a fancy system and this has helped with growth big time.
