Yes, but it's taking me about 6 months doing a treatment like once or twice a month, lol.
I still have a few I need to take care of.

A quick question. I couldn't find the Rooto brand stuff but I grabbed this from HomeDepot. It says it contains NaOH so I assume it's the same.

So I did the treatment last week. It worked very well. I killed a lot of aptasia, some polyps that had been taking over and even some bubble algae. I did get some on my mystic sunset monti and killed a little but the rest was fine. It got on a torch head but again, it was fine. I went overboard and it made my ph jump way high but was good by the next morning. I cut the mix in half so there is a ton left if anyone wants to try it.

I also used this method a few weeks ago to melt some ugly palys that were taking over a rock and starting to encroach on some acros. Worked great!

I am extremely new to the hobby but I trained my peppermint shrimp to eat aiptasia.

My way may not be always the answer but it truly worked for me.

After 1 day of releasing my shrimps (4) into the tank all the aiptasia's were gone. Totally gone I couldn't believe my eyes.

My tank was infested.

1. Feed the peppermint shrimp with flakes in quarantine net for 3 days.
2. Feed the aiptasia on a frag rock and place the frag in the quarantine net.
3. If the shrimp starts to attack and eat aiptasia the shrimp is ready!
4. Keep that shrimp in the net to teach the other shrimp and release in the tank.

Where did you get your shrimp from? They seem to be hit or miss depending on the source.

Petco lol I just had to train them for few days.. Out of 4 one of them was the first one to go for the food that was in aiptasia. And others followed. I had 1 in the tank untrained it never touched aiptasia so I went and bought 3 more and trained it before letting them out.
Now all 4 hunts for aiptasia.
But I have none in the tank

I've tried berghia nudibranchs as my first attempt at peppermint shrimp failed. I bought 5 for a 17 gallon. It was expensive and they worked for 2-3 months. Now, the aiptasia is back and my nudibranchs are nowhere to be found. I might try it again. When it worked, it worked really well.

About a week ago I found a aiptasia on one of my rocks, started looking closer and then spotted about 10 more throughout my new live rock. Kinda expected it since I had got live rock. Anyways bought a file fish and put it into the tank after acclimating it and went to bed. Woke up the next afternoon and woke up to all the aiptasia gone, couldn't find a single one anywhere. File fish is the way to go.

Consider yourself lucky. My filefish didn't touch my aptasia and I sold him after a year. Used peppermints but had to sell my wrasses which kept eating them.

I bought a berghia nudibranch and peppermint shrimp to take care of the aiptasia. Aiptasia is gone, Berghia is no where to be found but still happy with end result.
