I have 2 half dollar size patched of red cyno (reddish violet actually) and what to nip it in the bud. There are no detectable levels of Na or phosphate. I have added some leds for shimmer lastely, maybe I will turn off when not looking at the tank. It's only present of the substrate.

Thank you!

haha wow... if only i would have that tiny spot in my tank, i'd be happy.. i got it on snail's shells lol and they carry it around lol

I actaully has a lot of red and green on my base rock. It "dissapeared" once I started using RODI water, Phosguard (I have to buy more) and doubled the volume of my water changes to 10 gallons every 2 weeks.

Thanks for the advice.

I do 10gallons every week and have used Ro water for a year... i think it finally got worse enough I needed to upgrade to a RO/DI and change my filters :P lol we'll see, it is getting better. I dont use any type of mechanical filtration other than a skimmer and haven't for a year and haven't had any type of problems till now lol

I agree with porpoiseaquatics same here, never a negative side effect and gets rid of it every time.

Works great, but you HAVE to do the 25% water change 2 days later. Follow it by another within a week
