Whose using them? Any reviews, pros and cons? I am looking at either going with one that has 120 1 watt Bridgelux or one that has 60 3 watts ran at 2 watts each.

This is to go on a 29 Biocube. I am just wanting to get something that will hold out until the LED hype has died down and units are not a small fortune.

I have the 55 3w chip one from Rob and this thing rocks. Granted i had to decimate my hood its awesome! Come check it out!

I had envisioned cutting out a portion of the hood to kind of make it like a HQI hood. How are your corals fairing? I am basically wanting to have the option of having easier SPS (monti's and such) as well as a clam at some point. Is this something that would be possible with the unit you are using?

I'm getting my set from lilrob they are awesome pm him

Edit: I'm getting my set from lilrob they are awesome pm him

Deitz do you have a picture of the LED fixture? Or a link to it at least and how much?

it's like this one, just a black box LED light...

I havent heard anything about them, but I have been looking for some and ran across these.

Are there any problems to be aware of? They seem like a good price if they can preform.

That's the exact one I have been looking at. I have been talking with the ebay seller, they said that they can custom make the light for a different ratio of LED's for the same price it would just take up to 20 days to get the light.

I am gonna talk to a couple of local people first before I place my order.

They seem like a nice fixture. Its good that they will change the ratio also. If you do order them, post up a review. I have been thinking about ordering one also.

Said the same thing on RC (I'm snarkes)... but check out the ones from eshinesystems.com

And... all the images of those ebay units over tanks in the add are badly doctored. Anyone else notice that the yellow tang is exactly the same in the pics? Heck... its even ghosted into the pic with the three units that are strangely at odd angles to the tank.

Anyways... I know the eshinesystems are a tad more expensive... but they're also a good deal stronger. I know that I'll be ordering four of em in a few months time. I think dawgface is ordering some for his 450 build?

I was reading about those fixtures also. The only thing is the cree 60w fixtures can only be purchased from stark led. Eshine will not ship them to the us for their price, which is half the price of what stark sells them for.

Yeah, so get the Bridgelux units. Bridgelux is a good LED too. Dont get too caught up in the CREE madness.

But we are thinking of different eshinesystems units. I'm talking about the 3G 100x3W AquaPanel

These bad boys:

Yea I was just throwing that out there. They were ones that I first looked at. Have you found out prices on that one or any of the other fixtures with the Bridgelux's?

The one I linked to is $240 each... shipping is roughly $200 so you either want to get in on a shipment with someone (hey... i'll be buying in January ;) ) or buying multiple to reduce the cost. I think Dawgface found that they were asking $350 for the 150x3w unit of the same line. All Bridgelux LEDs and you can customize the array.

I have been researching since June on the different LED types and did learn alot. I did see the ones from eshine systems and have been in contact with a rep from China, but was not happy with the pics they sent me of the light reflected on a wall. Light spread seemed too narrow. I do have other companies that I'm still in contact with that sell all types of fixtures from regular 1watt LEDs to 3watt and dimming capabilities.

I own four of the black box ones and will be using them on my 250, def low the color and spread they put off but havent had the opportunity to actually test them on any corals
