I broke a fitting on my new RO unit and the only replacement I can find locally is in brass, can I use this temporarily till the plastic fitting arrives? It's the fitting on the RO cartridge, if that matters.Thanks.

It matters - you can use brass before the RO canister with caution - but not AFTER the RO...

I would not. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Copper is highly toxic to aquatic organisms. You can buy distilled water form the grocery store, or get DI from a LFS, until your RODI unit is repaired properly.

Well it is after the RO cartridge so....I'm going to be making 150 gallons to start my new tank...don't wanna lug that much water...I guess i'll be patient and wait. Thanks.

+1, incredibly smart decision IMO.

You should be able to find plastic fittings at Lowes or Home Depot - "John Guest" fittings. They are usually near the brass, but in a section of their own.

+1...all the fittings I've ever needed for my Air Water Ice RODI have been located at Lowe's (IMO, don't waste your time at HD...they have squat in plumbing).
