They have been in the same tank for couple mth.s I guess he is feeling confident. I see him cleaning my Sargassum every once inawhile but I just happen to be quick enough to snap a pic this time. Hes either really brave or really stupid? I hope he doesnt turn into a 25$ snack. He usually cleans his sides but now he wants to act like a Dentist.

He's stupid & his days are numbered..

I had 2 cleaner shrimp who loved to steal silversides from my flower anemone. Yeah, the anemone got tired of that and had some high-priced dinner.

I gave up on the shrimp.

Yep I think he will be dinner if he isn't careful. I love those triggers, but I have three shrimp in my tank that I don't want to make dinner for a trigger. Let me know if he is still around in 6 months, then maybe I will test it. :)

IF I were to put a trigger with a shrimp, it WOULD be a sargassum. I think the guys that keep them together make sure to keep their fish very well fed, and the shrimp is usually in the tank before the trigger.

Anything added to the tank after a trigger "is" food in the trigger's mind.

I thought I would give it a try and so far I have had good luck. I did make sure the cleaner was in first and I feed good 2 times a day. He will eat pellets but his food of choice SHRIMP with garlic guard  It might help that the shrimp is bigger than the sargassum for now.

usually if a fish accepts a cleaning, they wont eat the shrimp.

unless you dont feed them for a while that is.

And you might consider feeding him something other than shrimp.....lol
Ender is right...once a symbiotic relationship is formed NORMALLY there will be no issues. But in this hobby nothing suprises anymore.

I remember I once bought about 20 peppermint shrimp that were on sale. I had a large blue throat trigger for about 2 years and watched him eat every one of the peppermints as they went down towards the bottom.

Omg! thats the worst story i ever heard lol they didnt even make it to the bottom. I can imagine the look on your face watching that

It was awful. I acclimated all of them at once and poured them in. Only 2 escaped that night, but I never saw them again after that evening.
