OK here is my tank makeup

135 Gallon Mixed Reef
55 Gallon Fuge/sump

But in all I would say 150 Gallon Total Water Volume

Current Measurements

Ammonia - 0
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
ALK - 7.3
Calc - 400
Mag - 1400

I am planning on Dosing BRS Two Part but need help to make sure I do things correctly.

According to BRS here is what I need

CALC - want it to be (450) to get there (767.6 ml)
MAG - want it to be (1450) to get there (604.8 ml)
ALK - want it to be (9 dkh) to get there (182.1 ml)

According to BRS I should dose more than .4ml - .6ml per 25 gallons per day.

So since I have a water volume of 150 that would be .36ml per day. Please let me know if I am correct.

Already mixed up my two part per BRS instructions

Sounds about right, however you will need to test and tweak it quite a bt as usage changes, and tank is buffered....

You could just use a salt that has those target numbers (or close enough), then you will only need to replace what's used daily.....

Either way works though.

You can definitely add more than .36ml of 2 part per day to raise your Cal and Alk per day. You should be able to split the Cal and Alk solutions over a couple days to eventually hit your numbers.

Then once you have the numbers you want you need to determine your tanks usage per day.

Whats a safe amount, dosing this stuff is new to me although I have dosed other stuff, give me a ML amount.

Salinity has my numbers perfect, but there are many others.....

Seachem Reef is very good, too...I'm sure RC is fine...don't know their levels.

Sanity put my mag at 1300, Alk 9 or 10, and calcium 420 or more...

I just to to replace, and I add a little mag with each water change to drive over 1350.

I have heard good things about Salinity but man I saw some pictures of a few fantastic reef tanks and they all were using RC. If it works for them and there corals are growing like weeds, I guess I could try it out and see how it works for me.

We all know what you dose for that. I think you're dosing early tonight.:shades:

The dose to adjust the calcium is less dangerous than the adjusting dose for the ALK, but I would spread both out.

Take your adjusting doses and split them up over 3 days since you will be dosing a large amount to adjust your initial parameters. You should also split your daily dose up multiple times so you are not shocking the system all at once.

Ok so according to my calculations

CALC - want it to be (450) to get there (767.6 ml) I should does 128 ML twice per day for 3 days

MAG - want it to be (1450) to get there (604.8 ml) 30.5 ML broken down twice per day for 3 days.

ALK - want it to be (9 dkh) to get there (182.1 ml) 91.5 ML broken down twice per day for 3 days.

Will do these at least an hour apart from each other. But are these numbers ok. Seems like a lot to dose according to BRS I shouldnt go over .36 ML per day. Please let me know your thoughts. All have been mixed last night and are now ready for me to start dosing but I want to be sure.

You should be fine dosing all the Calc and Mag in one dose. On the alk, I would do once dose a day of 85.7 ml for two day. That should put you pretty close. I would not dose more than once a day. For what it is worth, my total volume is about 140 gal and I am doing just about the same as you.
