This is a fish only tank

Im starting to do some research on Green Bubble Tips. I was curious if my lighting would be sufficient enough to house one. Ive got a 48" single 10K T5 bulb with some DIY LED moonlights. The tank is 24" deep.

When I decide to make the jump to reef I will upgrade my lighting but until then Id like to get a GBTA if possible

I personally don't believe that's going to be enough light, but Jenn was able to keep one in a cube tank with only a PC light. I'll leave it to the experts on this one.

I heard my name in vain?

Single T5 lamp (54 watts?) is not sufficient, IMO, even with supplemental feeding.

The one Maple refers to was/is a BTA I put in under 130 watts of PC (2x65) in January of 2001 (I just looked it up in that tank's journal that I used to keep, the other day!) It did fine and grew huge and split multiple times over 7 years til '08 when we switched to 4x24W T5HO (a little less wattage, in fact, but better light). There are 3 or 4 in there now (it keeps on splittin').

There isn't a "formula" as such for lighting but it has to be the right light.

I have a massive RBTA under 12 watts of LED (in a 12-g tank).
