Build: Red Sea P500

Question how are you holding up the
Lights: 4xRapidLED Onyx w/ Bluefish controller + 2 T5’s

I also want to use LEDs and T5 but i dont know what to do on my 125.
Its 72 in long...

Do i need to get 4 36in T5's or one 60 in T5??? And how do you use LED box with the T5???

Looking at your light setup its nice and clean so i wanted to ask.

Classic AI Rail Kit. Might be able to find it still. I had to buy the 60” kit and cut off 12” to fit my tank.

Here is a pic with the T5’s mounted. I used two L brackets, joined together with and bolt and nut.

Would the 60 in can be extended to fit 72 in???

Dealing with some turf algae. Put 5 emerald crabs in to see if they will eat it.

Added a regal tang and another lightning clown. The added clown got killed in less than a day by the other clown, so I guess he is going live a solitary life now.

Picked up a bellus angel a week ago and doing really well in quarantine. Hoping to get her on pellets before moving over to the display.

Your Coraline grew in so fast...I've had mine up and running for a bit longer and just have dots here and there...nice work!

Another update, going to switch out my t5's from the ATI AquaBlue Special & 6700K bulb to two ATI blue plus to see how my corals react.

Also, I got rid of all the GSP. It was growing like crazy and got sick of having to trim it back and worry about it growing on other rocks. The good news is I replaced the GSP rock with a whole new rock, so more room for SPS!

I have come to realized, I'm not a fan of all these name brand corals because for you to get that color they are showing, you'd have to run your tank pretty much all blue and I prefer my tank to be more a crisp white light.

I picked up these corals:
  • ORA Hawkins
  • ORA Green Planet
  • ORA Red Tip (not what I was expecting, hoping colors up better the longer in my tank)
  • LA Green Polyp Crateriformis Acro
  • LA Violet Valley (really have high hopes for this, starting to get its color back from shipping)
  • LA Purple Paradise Horrida (Wow! Love the bright polyps on a dark purple base - can't wait for this to grow out)
I forgot to mention, I was dealing with co2 leak from my regulator and couldn't figure it out (went through two 5lb bottles in less than 2 months). Did the soap water test and there was no leak along all the outside seals. Since I purchased this used, I figured I wouldn't have any warranty so I said the heck with it and broke open the black box on the CarbonDoser Regulator. I looked at all the connection points and carefully applied soap on away from the electronics and sure enough, the leak was there at the connection point inside. Took it off, put some teflon tape, and tightened it back up. No leak!

I think you'll like it a lot. I like the simplicity of the Red Sea set up. The build quality of the tank is great and I really like the simple look of the cabinets. I'm not a fan of all the molding and trim work on cabinet stands. I always prefer the less is more look. Keep the main focus on the tank and not the stand. Just my 2 cents tho.

Really nice! Great inspiration. My Red Sea S-400 gets delivered this week.
