I moved those torches because of you
Thank youBeautiful tank Civics.
So, full week of dosing 1/4 tsp of sodium nitrate and got my nitrates up to 10.8. So, now I’ll cut off dosing and wait 3 days and test to see how much it drops to adjust dosage.
I’m hoping some corals that lost color start to get their color back.
On a positive note, growth is just insane!
Thanks for the heads up. I'm stable at around 5-8 ppm on Nitrates at only 1/4 tsp per week on the sodium nitrates, so I don't think it is impacting my salinity much. I am also about to add a second auto feeder since my current auto feeder can only do 4x a day. I am going to get it up to 6x day. This should eliminate the need for dosing nitrates going forward.I used to use that stuff as well, and it works great. I recently saw a thread on R2R about dosing ammonium nitrate instead. The idea being you supply the entire nitrogen cycle not just add nitrates. I started doing that and its showing great results. Plus youre not adding sodium to the tank which likes to turn into salt.

always been low. been zero since march of this year but didn't have any issues with color or growth, so I ignored it. Then when some acros started to lose color, I decided to dose nitrates to get it up and it fixed the color issue. Now, just a weekly maintenance dose to keep it up.have your nitrates always been low or only since the mushrooms have gone amuck?
What’s the plan for that? I always miss my FW tanks and wish I had room for one.My repurposed rs250
Discus tank. I got 6 in there already. What’s the plan for that? I always miss my FW tanks and wish I had room for one.
That’s what I’d do if I got back into fresh. I had big SA cichlids and a few oddballs in my old tanks.Discus tank. I got 6 in there already.
