Trying to get this thing setup! I'd also prefer to completely understand how it all works before I turn it loose on my system!! Please help! It's a mrc 4 reactor and I am going to use a pinpoint ph controller, I have the C02 bottle and a reg with electronic solenoid and bubble counter! If you're up late please gimme a call and talk cal reactor! Thanks! 678-343-8958

I'm not sure how it is with the MRC but with my GEO. I set the bubble counter at 30 bubbles per min. (bpm) and I have my effluent at about 5ml a min. That all really depends on how much SPS you have. I also like to keep my controller to turn on my Co2 at 6.50 and off at 6.55 but I know others have it a bit higher. It's best to dose your tank to get the calcium level up to where you want it and then hook up your calcium reactor since its there to maintain your calcium and not to raise it. All you really need to do is test your calcium and alk to make sure that the calcium and not moving and your alk isn't getting too high. If your alk is too high than you need to lower your Co2 count. If your calcium is too high than you need to lower your effluent. Thats pretty much it in a nutshell

I used melev's link as well as these in understanding mine and getting a basic setup:
