"Designer" names... ridiculous.
JMO of course...
I didn't know that my monster chalice was a "Hollywood Stunner" until somebody told me about 2 years ago. I've had it for 6 years. All this time I thought I had an Echinopora sp.

I started it as a thumbnail sized frag under stock PC in an Aquapod. Now it takes up about 1/4 of my prop tank under 2 x 400W MH.
Be aware it has long sweeper tentacles so watch who is downstream from it. Mine "behaves" but I have seen it in attack mode.

I personally like it because if i see a particular chalice or zoa online or elsewhere and like it's characteristics, it's neat to be able to find the exact strain by name.
Also, "pink boobies," was a joke name given to a really nice chalice in a sort of backlash against the naming craze; ironically, it stuck.
I think most people who are "collectors" like naming, while those who are fish people or prefer softies or a lively, full reef full of life don't like the names. Comes down to how "into" the coral you are imo.
Sorry to get off track.
