last week, one of my prized $100/eye chalices RTN'd. It never really grew just got smaller over a couple months and just RTN'ed. I guess I should have posted this earlier...lol

I have another no name chalice that is starting to RTN as well, really its just getting smaller, I dont beleive it is leaving behind its skeleton so I (while the other did) hope I am using the RTN acronym appropriately.

All other chalice, sps, softie, etc..are doing well and growing.

water params are good
alk - 3.5-4 meq
calcium - 450-470
Mag - 1350'ish
Trates - .1 or below
Phosphate - 0-0.2

That's weird. IME, chalices are some of the toughest corals. All of mine survived my crash.

I know, Im going to chalk it up to the coral itself, not the tank or params for now..

No help here but I have lost chalices and acans for no apparent reason. Others right beside them in the tank thrive. Go figure...

Ya mine survived a bleach out one time when I forgot it n fresh water dip for like 20 minutes. Although still hasn't got 20% of it color back mostly white n see thru. It's a short tenticals version n eats like crazy. U know u could always donate a frag of it to dawg or something for a back up or safe keeping if your fails.

Where have they been located in reference to powerheads? Are you blowing the flesh off? Are they low or high in the tank?
