Chapter 1: IM Nuvo40

What exactly does it mean when a anemone takes a walk? Does it just release its foot and float away or does it actually "walk"?
One of my baby rockflowers (thumbnail size) is missing this morning and I can't find it. My tank isn't super big but I just wondering if it got lodged under a rock would it be able to get back out.
I'm fairly sure that it didn't get eaten or pureed.

They have a foot and they shuffle around until they find a place they’re happy with light and flow. It’s really neat to watch. I’ve never seen one float off but I’m careful to reduce flow when I’m adding one.

i recently made a switch on my lights as far as intensity and height and sure enough i had three nems walk. They walked off of the rocks and up the side of the tank. I was happy that they didnt fully let go and float. I have seen that happen as well in my first tank. Since they were on the glass it was supper easy to take them off. I ended up selling 2 of them and the third one i placed it back on my nem island. I have setup the flow in my tank so that the right side of the tank get a lot less flow then the center and left side of the tank. This has helped keep the nems on the right side and not walk anywhere else in the tank.

While mine is only the size of a nickel, it has a bright pink skirt yet somehow I can't find it. I hope it shows up soon

i had two in one tank and then i moved the light a bit.... two hours later come back and one moved across a 20g long and the other i saw pieces off.... thing went into a suicide mode..... was pretty sad lol

hopefully it will. Ive had mine go into the middle of the rockwork and not see it for a day or two. But eventually pops right back out.

I just got a gold tip elegance. These seem to be hit or miss.
I like feeding my corals...I assume that they're happier when fed.

My pink skirt RFA is still MIA....I'm not too worried but it is a little perplexing. I kind of look around every morning but haven't been able to spot it yet.

When i had my IM Nuvo 40 i ran it with a Tunze 9001 and it worked flawlessly. When i sold the tank it went with it. @tbrennan had it for a little while. What did you think about the skimmer? Now @00Dan has the tank with the skimmer. Hows it holding up?

To be honest it was a great skimmer. A little hard to tune imo. Biggest thing with that skimmer is keeping the water level at a constant level. If it fluctuates even the slightest bit it seemed to throw the tune off.

I saw this bright pink anemone with a blue base for sale at Nemo 2 on Friday. It was $90 which was kind of high (for me). But I couldn’t stop thinking about it all weekend and went back Sunday and bought it.

This morning I woke up to a cloudy tank.
Yep. And yep. Gross.

I’m doing a big water change as we speak.
I put what was left of the nem in a media basket just to give it a chance. If it starts to rot I’ll toss it. Poor guy.

Also I had to move some things around in my tank - the monti ca was being stung by a torch.
The small part of the elegance was separating from the base, and after some research, I think it was in too much flow. I moved it behind a rock so hopefully it gets better and/or doesn’t get worse.
It’s like playing musical chairs with animals that want to kill each other lol

This has happened to me before and is the main reason I keep telling my wife no to a new. On the other hand I think they are cool and would like to have one day. I may just settle for a RFA
