Chapter 1: IM Nuvo40

Shes doing good so far. Tentacles are extending a lot further than before.
Seems to be healing well...guts aren't spewing all over like when she first came in.
She only has 1 mouth that I can see but I haven't tried to target feed her yet.

My phosphates have always been stupid high in this tank. API shows 1.0 and Hanna shows 1.25.
My nitrates are somewhere between 0-5.

I have mostly lps.

My rocks always look a little brownish-green.

and obviously sticks don’t do well in this tank. But beyond not being able to keep sticks happy, what are the ill effects of having high phosphates?

A few weeks ago my daughter saw a baby yellow coris at Nemos and has been pestering me ever since to buy one.
We already have one, which appears female. I did a bunch of reading on pairing up yellows and the final conclusion on keeping two together was "maybe".
So we had some free time today and went by and dammit they had 3 babies and we ended up buying one.

Then I found a small aquacultured maxima in the back.

So now I have the world's smallest yellow coris (it can literally fit through the slits of the overflow) and a maxima clam.

Everything is looking happy in the DT.
Using seaklear to reduce phosphates. I’m also thinking about toggling my skimmer to see if the nitrates will rise a bit.

I'm using a plating monti as my litmus test to see if I can put acros in the DT...it looks ok so far.
But I'm not 100% ready to sacrifice an acro, lol. We'll give it some more time.
I'll probably stick a piece of setosa in there next to see how it'll do

Monti didn't do well in the DT so I put it back into the frag tank :(

My maxima was attached to a small rock base. I initially had it on the floor but its mantle didn't fully extend so I moved it to the top of the tank and the mantle opened fully but then retracted halfway through the day. I assumed it was too much light.
Theres really no shelf in the middle of my tank - so as I was trying to find a spot for the clam, my idiot clown nipped the back of my hand and I dropped the rock which caused the clam to get knocked off.
The byssal threads got torn and it later dropped the whole byssus thingy. Thankfully the foot is still intact - I took a video of it.
Anyhow the clam is back on the ground until it regrows its byssus thingy.

Got my hands on an amazeballs frag. It’s bright but with a metallic sheen. Not blinding like an utter chaos it’s more like jackolantern lepto.
Hopefully it grows well and doesn’t melt
