Awesome shot. Can't believe you happened to catch him mid molt and he was out in the open
My elegance frags mouth has been slowly moving to the center of the frag. Interesting. The elegance itself looks like crap but presumably healthy. I hope it continues to do well and grows into something prettier
My Amazeballs has not looking so hot. I hope that it’s just being temperamental and not melting.
I love the antenna on a "new" shrimp - they're so long and whispy.
Both of my shrimp molt approx every 12-16 days
I've been manually dosing .5mL of SeaElements into the tank, specifically for the gonis.
The gonis appear indifferent but the torches love it - they've got some great and curling extension on them.
My Amazeballs is still shrunken but since all of the other gonis appear fine I don't want to mess with it too much. I'm just keeping an eye on it for now.

Amazeballs is starting to come out of hibernation...thank goodness. Everything else is growing like weeds with good extension - Space Glitter, Glitter Bomb, Flame Tip & Date Night - all from @Joker Corals

I've found I don't like short tentacle gonis, but LOVE long tentacled ones.

How often are you doing water changes and have you ever done any testing to see where your Alk, Cal & Mag are at?
Its a Nuvo40 and I've been doing 2 gallons every 10-14 days.
I only check parameters when thing don't look happy.
Phosphates bounce around a lot - I'm sure that its the dry reef rock leaching. .09 was the lowest its ever been all the way up to 1.25
Alk stays between 9 and 10
Last time I checked calcium it was over 500 (may be user error)
Mag never checked

Yeh, I haven't found or seen any shorts that really knock my socks off.
Mediums are pretty nice but the longs are the best.
I've loved gonis well before torches and before the hype but now everybody wants them.
Its a double edged sword - more varieties are popping up but so are prices. And unfortunately, the name game.
I always liked goni’s but never had luck with them until this tank. Huge fan of long tentacles as well. Not a fan of short. They just look like cyphastrea to me.
I've been eyeballing Rits VDM goni frags but haven't pulled the trigger because the price seems a little steep.
Of course, he'll probably sell out and I'll regret not getting one when I had the chance.

I had a long history of killing gonis. I won a frag of trix goni from @Bulldawg Reef and that thing has not only lived but has grown and thrived.

Its officially the AA VDM Goniopora. I assume it stands for Valentines Day Massacre.
It looks eerily similar to the Black Widow goni. Its the only one he has, I think
