Chefs Official Red Sea 750 XXL Build Finally!!!

No worries! It's always fun to help a friend or new friend set up something for their tank. Glad to help! It looks even better in person. The way the wires disappear into the ceiling looks amazing! Such a clean look.

Last one for today I promise! Trident test results after calibration and my light wires all tied up together.

So as you guys know, I finally cut the red sea valve out and installed a spears gate valve. I just couldn't take it anymore! Today I finally shut up and quit crying and placed the order for my top coming from octo aquatics, so hopefully it'll be here next month sometime. Their not cheap but they look good and fits my build.

I've read a lot of complaints about their valve. I'm about to start a 650P build and I guess I should just bite the bullet and replace it from the start.

I can't Express enough how much I hated it. I just couldn't get it adjusted to save my life. Once you did get it set any flow adjustment would throw it off, such as killing your pumps for feeding or turning them down at night or anything. Just make sure to look at different ways that people have done it, to be honest if your not going custom plumbing this was the easiest way. You get to use their original plumbing lines pipe support and everything. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need any assistance.

I'm still on the fence about custom plumbing but I still have a ton of blue PVC leftover from my saltwater mixing build.

I'd build my own manifold for sure but there's a configuration issue that would place the fuge in the back of the stand and I don't think I'm ok with that.

The way around this would be to turn the sump around but then I'd have to customize all the plumbing. Plumbing doesn't scare me but when I talked to Red Sea last week, they said their plumbing is made in another country and it can be difficult to find pieces to fit.

Not trying to hijack your thread, just glad to talk to somebody who's recently done plumbing work on one.

Did you find it easy to connect your own plumbing to theirs? Did you gut all their plumbing or are you using a combination of yours/theirs?

Ive done a little of everything you just said!!! I first connected my plumbing to theirs, pain because they use metric and we're standard of course. The way I tied in had my plumbing hanging too low, so I scraped it. I will pm you where I cut it, but here's a link for the guy I found it on.

I guess it's time for the next step everyone, now that all the lights are posted. Time to start on my little old frag tank, 24x24x16. Im going to pick up a noopsyche k7 for it, I actually like them. The plan is really starting to come together! Enjoy

Where did you pick up that frag tank? I want to do a small lagoon. But I don't know if boss lady will approve. Lol

From @scottw, he had an extra laying in the garage! I was thinking about getting a waterbox cube 20, but he had this one it's pretty sweet. 3/4 inch polished and rounded acrylic and the size was perfect. My wife was skeptical at first until she saw it set up, she just asked is there anything else coming in here! No boss!

That tank was custom built for shows. I didn’t think about lifting it and shipping it lol. It was about $150 in shipping so yeah. 2 same size with paper thin acrylic will be used hahaha.
