Moving my build out of the private only https://atlantareefclub.org/forums/topic/cjs-50-cube-build/

Lots of pictures to come. Currently the tank is up and going with a icecap gyre 3k (might switch or compliment with my MP-10) and a heater... hold your horses, I have done this before and have been cycling for a while in another tank.  2 Mochavinchi clowns, 2 peppermint shrimp and 20 snails (thanks Shac). I'm really trying to be patient with SCA to send me a sump that is not broken (hopefully 3rd time will be the charm). I have as much plumbing done that I can do without the sump. I plan on a modest refugium, and will prob upgrade from my OG apex to a more updated model.

Plumbed in the 5 stage RODI unit.

This weekend I'm going to finish up on plumbing the RODI and hopefully the sump will get here. The sump they sent came cracked...

I'm going to automate as much as possiable so I plan on a new apex or the old one, considering getting my mp10 repaired or going with a gyre. Lots of ideas. Going to install a wire management system this week and a DJ strip. Let's see how it goes

Welcome back!  I look forward to your build thread  Cubes are one of my favorite display tanks.

Cable management complete. I don't think the DJ strip is going to work... Any ideas??

More goodies in today. Wrong sized piping... so if anyone needs 1 1/4” sch80 red pvc, let me know.

Had to replace my old inline tds meter, so got the same one.

Lastly, a spool of 1/4” tubing to finish up the plumbing on the RODI system

Pic of old solana, this build should blow this out of the water.

People responded and gave feedback a few years ago. I guess things have changed or I'm breaking an unwritten rule. I'll wait for someone to respond before the next update. Hope I haven't wasted membership fees.

I too was away for a while, and things have definitely changed. Not sure what happened, but participation doesn't seem to be what it used to be.

Then I will keep going, just didnt want this to fall on deaf ears and blind eyes.

-My icecap gyre 3k should be in today.

-Sump should be in on the 5th and I should be fully plumbed by the end of the week.

-I am having trouble with my RODI, whoever plumbed my washer played a cruel joke on me by making the blue line hot water and the red line cold water. So once I got everything installed I realized I was running warm water, so I need to switch that up (move the washer again...) also the PSI meter is not reading. I just got a brand new one and it is still not working. I redid all of the connectors and the T valve but still nothing... Any advice?

Im not sure what the preferred location of the vlve is suppose to be.  But, mine is located inline before the Membrane.

As is mine. Water is moving through it and if I take the meter off it’s pumping water out. Kinda hard to believe my old one and a brand new one are not working. Sounds like a user error to me

I suppose its possible you dont have enough pressure from that line. Im not sure how you have it connected.  But,  is the  value open all the way by chance?

When I crank it up and it’s obvioulsy 50+ psi from the water flow, the needle remains the same. Going to just use the TDI meter and install another ball valve for an on/off switch

Got the gyre and heater in today. Still topping off. Working on the plumbing, but bottlenecked by a lack of sump!

Valve is barely open second chamber is only about 75% full and can’t keep up. Warm water problem??? I’m planning on switching it to my cold water tomorrow but it’s a big PITA

Getting better to the RODI problem, it came in plumbed incorrectly. PSI meter is now working. Still need to get the cold water as the intake.

On another note, we have fish and still no sump!

Wow! What a great build thread. Welcome back to someone who has obvious experience in this game! That Solana build was sweet. I can't wait to see how you finish this one. I would think the lack of comments is because you are doing such a great job on you own! You'll love that Gyre 3K. The only gripe I have about mine is that I have to clean it without fail every 60-70 days. I suppose I could go 90 but why take the chance. You will notice that performance will drop off around the 50 day mark. It always amazes me when I reinstall it after cleaning. I have it surging at 45% and If I have it too close to the top of the water, it will blow water to the other side of the 58" tank. Following!
