CJ's 50 cube build

Finally knocked out some wire management. Previously all of my wiring was shoved in a bucket behind this hamper, I drilled 1 1/2 holes into the back and finally cleaned up the ratnestFAB89FE2-05F9-4C45-B517-F3F461E8F818.jpegD9C38FE9-EAD0-4554-94E3-7C40CEAF62D9.jpeg

Looks REALLY good. Makes me ashamed of my knotted mess of cords behind my tank....I need to do that myself. :) See you inspired me!

Did some cleaning and a lot of those little things that only the tank owner would notice for the most part.

First got my dosing unit up and running. Only dosing calcium right now as my alk is at 12 dKh and my Ca is at 360, trying to raise the calcium and precipitate some of the alk out to get to a point where I can use my 2 part equally. Testing daily to keep up with this.

Next I cleaned up in my sump and got my baby monitor running so I can look at my skimmer without moving or when I am away.

And I can’t leave you without some new live stock. Tyree Pink Lemonade, looks happy with just a little natural light hitting it from the skylight.

You got a lot accomplished and it all looks great and more efficent. Your little coral looks so happy too! I love maintaining my tank and life support equipment. So relaxing...

Been a while again, right now I have completely stopped dosing and am back to 5-gallon water changes every 3 days. Could never get calc, alk & MG to stabilize so I figure this is the safest way to do it rather than chasing with dosing. Some of my SPS is doing well, lost a bit when my alk spiked. For some reason, my Maleficent and WD are proving to be quite hardy. Glad to see that from my the most expensive sticks in the tank. Everything is coloring up but growth has been limited. I contribute this to my RODI pushing out 5 TDS for a while. Finally went through 3 different DI resins and the 3rd one was the ticket. That was an expensive simple fix. Oh well, better than losing more coral due to it. Now that we are producing 0 TDS for the first time in a few months I am excited to see what these frequent water changes will do to eliminate the high phosphates in the tank. Added about 15 zoa morphs from the expo and kind of changed directions on the tank. I have realized I completely despise my rockwork so I will be re-aquascaping soon, Less rock, no more rock wall. Moving away from SPS dominated to an even mixed reef, I have had some troubles with this system and just accepted the fact no matter how many times I've successfully grown SPS in the past something is different so focusing more on LPS & softies for now.

Sorry for the heavy blue in these, I guess I'll be the Spectrum Nazi for this post. No white light for you!

BTW I absolutely drool over that cherry corals masterpiece rhicordia every night. Hopefully, it will grow and develop some bounce deformations!

I know the trend is less rock and more arches and overhangs, but you have a lot of surface area for corals with that scape.

If you do rescape though, take a look at this video. I like how he made feet by using ice cube trays as a mold.

Thanks, I've seen all of CJs stuff, I know my rocks well and have a plan. Wish I could cement but with everything being live its hard to do thaf

Looks great to me but I understand about changing direction. I have found, over the years, that every tank has its own finger print so to speak and supports different things well. I always go with what does well in each of my tanks... as a mature tank full of thriving corals (expensive or common) as opossed to a mature tank full of corals that arnt doing there best is less impressive or beautiful. The 20 long I just broke down was mature and beautiful but full of common, inexpensive every day corals but all brought to their best (praise God) in the system they were in. Looking forward to see your new rockwork!!
