A wise man once told me it's all about keeping your water params constant
He also has the most detailed log book kept on his tank out of any of us in this thread, guaranteed

JimmyStephens;875276 wrote: leds: I run my blues at 90% and whites at 50% good sps growth. Had leds for a year with no issues. I found that only people without leds say leds cant grow sps. While i do agree mh is the "fastest" method. Led color is amazing with no heat and less power consumtion

+1 blues at 100% and whites at 50%
I run my blues for 10 hrs and my whites for 8hrs.

All coral grow at different rates in different tanks. It is best to pick a setting you like and leave it. Stability is the best answer for most questions. I think water quality and movement are more important for growth rates.

1/2 is posted on my build...you can see the growth, and remember I am cutting, cutting, cutting!

who cares? lol

The best answer is this: leds @50 or 100% ,mh or a crap ton of t5 . All will work. The key is water prams. Large weekly water changes. Plus gfo/carbon vodka (whichever u do) and keeping alk from swinging. Keep alk/cal/mag stable ! Thats the secret.

To answer the op I try to mimic nature I've had a radion on my tank for about a year and a half and most of the time I have run it about 15 hours and it only runs at 65% for a couple hours. The rest of the time. It's either ramping up or down.
