Coral Growth

Because in the right hands LED tanks can produce growth and great color. I will admit, I not sitting there with snips in my hand waiting for a frag but I'm happy with my growth. I know this might come as a shock but some people don't care growth rates. Trust me I don't look at my tank and say "man, I wish I had MH".

Man LEDs suck.

That's pretty, but again, it doesn't need high pars either...

It just seems surreal when you are blasting your tank with fake colors, but it's not (generally speaking, with a few exceptions), maximizing growth..........why?

I think most people using LEDs burn up the coral. It's a very harsh light when ran at full power. I run my lights at only 32% (white). In addition, I hang them much higher so my spread is greater. I have checked my par and I'm getting plenty of punch. I do get growth. Just look at the tips of this stylo.

Yes, you and some others have growth, but comparatively, it's not there yet...overall. But one day it will, I'm certain, so I do appreciate those that are "testing the waters" so to speak....it's just not there yet, IMHO.
One day, soon...

I agree. But I think it's because people are running LEDs too high in power and not checking par levels. Let me know when your ready to come back from the dark side and you can come over and see my setup.
