Anyone tried that?
I got a large amount for a deal I couldn't pass - now wondering if anyone used it before...

I used to use it like 8 years ago. I really liked it at the time. My buddy uses it and really likes it. I wouldn't be against it, but I just stocked up on reef crystals.

Edit: They've probably changed the mix, but it use to mix up to around: ca 380-400ppm and alk 3.5-4.0 mg/l

Made by the same folks who make Kent and Oceanic salt.

I haven't used it in forever (before CGP bought up all the small companies) but wasn't a fan back then either.

It can be ordered, but I wouldn't bet on it being all that and a bag of chips.

I been using it for 5 yrs. mixes well. Alk and CAL test good.Higher then IO from the last time i tested. Just my 2 cents.

Wow, at that price you could use it to salt your driveway if we end up having a winter this year..

You could use it like "Salinity Helper" or "Reef Crystals Helper", and make your main salt brand stretch farther.:D

Where did you get it for that do they have any more? I will need some to start my new tank.

+1....I'm in for 15 buckets at that price.

Hah, I bought them all, they only had 4 buckets and were cleaning out the inventory

Have you ever wondered what the perfect commercial salt mix is? For me, it is a mixture of two commercial brands where I mix equal parts Instant Ocean and Oceanic. Instant Ocean when mixed alone is very high in alkalinity, whereas Oceanic is high in calcium and magnesium. Mixed in equal parts with my reverse osmosis water the values are as follows:
<p style="text-align:center">
Alk: 9-10 dkh
Cal: 450 ppm
Mag: 1250 ppm

These values match the parameter goals for my aquarium and I find the cost of the two salts do not break the bank.

This is a quote from a TOTM on RC, its what I use and it works fine. I think the Oceanic and the Coralife are the same..

Interesting. Anyone have opinions here? I used Instant Ocean Seasalt for my original mix and I'm about to make a purchase for my next batch.

I am going to mix reef crystals and IO from now on. I mixed up a 30g batch of reef crystals and the numbers were @ 1.026: ca 500ppm(Elos, tested twice) And alk 4.3-4.5 (seachem).
