Hey all,
I purchased a 90g glass off craigslist for a great price and what do I do when off loading it... Crack the bottom. Thoughts on repairing with a piece of 3/8" glass over the top of the cracked 1/2" bottom?

I wouldn't do it. You are far better off removing the broken piece and sealing it back in correctly. A 90 probably has 1/4" glass but could be 3/8" depending on manufacturer.

I have heard that it can be a problem getting the tank to seal again after totally replacing a panel?

Not if done correctly. The issue is, many skimp on the silicone and only do the seam. To properly seal a tank, you have to lay a bead where two panels join, clamp, then lay a seam bead.

So I should basically take it apart and remake the tank to do it right.

You will need to cut out the bottom not the sides then get a new sheet of glass and seal it in then run the inner bead
