Sitting here watching UFC and hear a weird whining noise, then a crash. I have my Apex shut down all pumps at 9:00 when the automatic feeder comes on. Apparently my juvy harlequin tusk was in one of my vortechs when it kicked back on. He was STUCK. So much that it caused the dry side to kick loose. There are scales everywhere and he doesn't look good. I actually had to free him from the wet side that was sitting on the bottom of my tank. Why is it always your favorite fish????

sorry to hear. I had a blenny that used to hang out in my MP40 when it was off.

This is why I make sure to watch everything in the tank when I am feeding and have the vortech turned off. As long as he is eating and doesn't getting bullied up he should pull through and be fine

I just pulled my blue throat trigger from inside a bulkhead... he jumped into the overflow about a week ago(just found him) i pulled the standpipe to drain the water down and catch him and he tried to get down the pipe. needless to say he didn't fit but he did wedge himself very well... like you said its always the cool ones.. hope yours is okay

Sorry to hear that, I came home today to find my new Anemone stuck in my HOB Filter. I don't know how long he was in there as I was at work for 8 hours. He was pretty tangled it the inlet tube. I shut the filter off and after about 45 minutes he managed to untangle himself. He seems fine now. I rearranged things and put the inlet tube down into a tall shot glass to keep him from doing it again.

I have an auto feeder that feeds pellets and flakes after my Apex kills all of my pumps. I am too busy most days to feed, so I have it automated.
It looks like the little harley will make it. He had a huge gash in his side that is almost healed. He also had a cut in his dorsal fin that I doubt will ever heal. I think his saving grace was that harleys are a thick fish. Any other fish in my tank would have been cut in half. Thanks for the "get well" wishes!!

poor guy... When I build a bigger tank, it's going to be for a harley tusk... I love those guys.

Boys will be boys I guess. LOL Never thought Matt and Ralph would join forces against me.
