I believe Reeflo pumps will shutoff once they start to overheat. Running with out or limited water will certainly cause them to heat up rather quickly. If you've found something leading to a shortage of water I would bet that is what happened.

I have 2 vortech's on 2 battery backups for this very reason. They will last up to 36 hours with no power, and I removed my heater about a month ago. temp in house is high enough right now.

Thanks for the offer, Cam. Guys like you make this club Awesome! I went to Miami and got a bunch of replacements. Obviously not as nice as what I had but alot smaller.
