Introduction to Technical Diving Seminar
Many divers have heard of "Technical Diving", but few actually know much about
this very advanced form of SCUBA diving.
Bill Lester is one of those few and is coming to Adventures in Diving for a
FREE seminar on Technical Diving on Saturday, June 2nd, from 1pm to 4pm.
Bill began openwater diving in 1988 in the Atlanta area diving deep fresh water
lakes. After moving to the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida area in 1992, he began
diving a wide variety of dive sites including: Wrecks, Reefs, Deep Spear-
fishing, Cavern, Caves, Deep Sinkholes & Submerged Sinkholes, Drift Diving, and
many others. He earned his full cave diver rating in the spring of 1996 and has
completed more than 550 cave dives to date, earning the prestigious Silver
Wakulla Award. These varied sites and types of diving gave Bill an excellent
foundation and extensive knowledge of many different diving environments.
During this time he also began his leadership training as a working divemaster
for several different instructors, boats, and dive shops. Bill became a dive
shop manager in 1998 and later owned and operated a scuba diving resort
(Neptune Divers of Weeki Wachee).
After returning to the Atlanta area, Bill completed his leadership training and
earned a NAUI Instructor Trainer rating in early 2002. In the summer of 2004 he
earned his Advanced Nitrox, Decompression, Cavern, and Intro to Cave instructor
ratings from TDI and a Cave I instructor from NAUI. Most recently he earned his
Extended Range and Trimix Instructor ratings from TDI.
