If so, I am experimenting with an in tank treatment. This could be very very helpful for those of you that can't pull and dip the acros in Bayer.

Please send me a pm. I'd like to borrow one of your corals that are infested for some testing.... Thanks!

I wanted to add that due to the sensitive subject, I will guarantee "doctor/patient confidentiality"....

Hey there. The Bayer dip worked great and so far, nonrecurrence on treated SPS pieces. However, I noticed RBs on untreated and encrusted pieces.

I've used Bayer almost exclusively now relative to all coral dipping.....prior to Bayer, I was using CoralRx. Bayer worked on AEFWs too.

Additional info. Tbryan originally sent me the link......

No kidding? And how in the world did anybody figure out this would work? More importantly, how and where do you find dosing instructions. Somehow I doubt that it's on the instruction label as I've used this product for yard bugs before and don't recall seeing anything about aquarium use.

Bayer cannot be used in tank.... It's probably great for prevention, but useless for those who cannot remove the corals from the DT. I have high hopes for the drugs that I have been testing. Unfortunately(strange to say) I don't have any red bugs.

What I am hoping to find is a few people who have them now. I want to test the drug as a dip as well as an in tank treatment. Due to the expense of the drug, I'd like the in tank test to be less than 50gallons.

The duration of the treatment(right now) is 6 hrs, very similar to interceptor.

Sorry Dylan, didn't mean to thread-jacked you.

if its k9 advantage dont use on montys leather or clams ultrum (tramadol) works also kills every bug but no harm to corals i also use it wen i have to put a pet down

It's ok!
If this works, which I am 95% sure it will, then the red bug "problem" in atl could soon be over. Interceptor takes a bunch of hoops to jump through to get.... This stuff doesn't ;)

Edit:

Nope, not that :)

I will say that clams aren't fond of the treatment.... But mine opened up as soon as I did the water change, replaced carbon, and turned the skimmer back on.

Edit: Leathers don't care...

Montis don't care....

MY shrimp, crabs, urchin, and snails survived.

Feather dusters probably will not.

yup! I've never used it though, but If I ever find the need to introduce a SPS coral to my tank, that's what I would use in QT......

I have plenty of interceptor though, but it's been years since I had red bugs......

Red Bugs is easy to kill with interceptor, but I have 2 acro crabs & a huge Porcelain Crab........

send me the info on what your using i may be able to find out the ingredient that is the pest killer and ill share my cheap cure with out charging you ;p

i cold have fun with ths one got tons of jokes for human gi parasites and how you got them

LMAO!!!!

I've had worms for a long time, but I haven't taken any of these meds for it. They aren't made for humans, HOWEVER, this drug had been used as a cutting agent for an illegal narcotic. The more you research, the more you find.... But, what I know is the amount needed to do the job :)
