dosing sugar or vodka

I have been reading online about people dosing sugar or vodka to their reef tanks..I would like to try it myself..Question is i cant seem to find out how much to dose or of what kind? i was thinking of sugar..its cheaper and plus I wont get any weird looks..Anyone else dose sugar?

+1 on that! There are threads here that give good directions and include some results feedback. Probably find it in the Reef Discussion threads.

Didnt slayer try it and it dropped some of his levels but raised others i cant remeber, I think he stopped doing it though, do a search on slayer
