Ok, I've got a stand that came with my new tank. It is a centered overflow and the back top brace of the stand goes directly underneath the holes. How can I brace around this? I am worried drilling through this wood will ruin the strength of the stand.

im assuming its one of the marineland stands and has the thin slat of wood for the brace thats like 3 or 4 inchs wide and 1/2 -3/4 in thick? if so id just rip that brace out and either move it to one side of the holes just to get it out of your way. or if you want to be extra safe get another peice the same size and put them about a third of the way from each side so you distribute the support and it should make it stronger than it came

It's actually a custom but yeah that's what is going on, I am going with the double support 2x4s. Thanks for the reply!
