Dry rock question

My friend gave me a couple of pieces of Dry rock. It has been sitting on his front porch for a few months. I was gonna stick it in my sump. Its a 125 gallon tank.

Do I need to do anything special to the rock before adding it to my sump? wash it off? boil it?

Rinse it off a couple of times and you should be good to go

I had some dry rock that sat outside for a year. I washed it off and everything was fine..

That TOTALLY depends on what happened to it before it was dried.

Taken from tank and dried: Bad news without bleaching or curing... die-off on the rock will cause issues, up to a small cycle
Bleached before dried: No problem
