My Blenny (favorite fish) jumped out of a rock I didn't know it was in when I took the rock out of the tank. I spotted it on the floor several minutes later. It's breathing but laying flat on a rock not looking good at all!

Is there anything I can do to help it :(

Thanks

Make it as stress free as possible in tank and it should be ok I've seen shrimp and fish survive the same type of occurrence just think happy thoughts kill the lights and maybe tame flow a little

Hang in there!!! You are doing all you can...

If it's any consolation, I added a jawfish to my DT Thursday, and haven't seen him since. Not in the tank, not in the canopy, not on the floor. :( Just be glad you had a chance to save your fish...

Dang, that stinks! Could something have ate it?

My Blenny just swam under a big rock were I can no longer see it. It's going to be a sleepless night wondering if its ok!
If it doesn't come out to eat in the morning should I assume its dead and try to remove it? It won't be fun removing my huge rocks but I can do it.

Thanks

I doubt something ate it. I placed it in at night while all fish were sleep. Besides, I only have two small bluethroat triggers that havent' messed with much smaller fish, and probably couldn't kill it if they tried. (I hope)...

If you have a CUC, just watch them. If they are all crawling under the rock that the blenny went under, it is probably a sign that it has passed. If you have a big CUC, they may take care of it before you can move your rock and get to it (if you have a large tank and allot of LR). If you have a small tank, and can get to it quickly, go ahead and remove it...

Best of luck!!!

I wouldn't remove any rock. It is most likely hiding while it recovers. If it made it 3 hours I suspect it will recover. Removing rock now may stress it even more, or it could be in one of the rocks you remove.

You can keep an eye on your Am but I think you will see him in a couple of days.

Wish you both the best! I had a hawk fish jump out 3 times in 6 months(when I took the mesh top off) he's stopped and has been around a long time. Holley:D

Yes, it was dead this morning and I removed it. So sad, that's the second fish I've lost (first one was a Blacker Ice) and both of them were special to me. This one hurt worse because it was my fault! I hope they don't have fear of dying, poor guy:(
Midas Blennys are such cool fish. I will have another some day after I have ALL rock work done and corals glued etc...
Why couldn't it have been this stinking Damsel that bites me dang it!
Thanks for your posts.

Sorry to hear that Deb. Accidents happen and it was a total accident and you tried your best to save him.
Don't beat youeself up to bad .

Thanks guys,
You know how I feel :(
The tank looks so empty without it, but I'm definitely waiting on buying another fish until all coral is glued so I don't do this again!
