Came home Friday from vacation to find one of my Radion Pros not working. Did the necessary troubleshooting myself, but nothing worked. Called Ecotech and within 10 minutes they agreed to send me a new base unit. I only have to ship the old one back, postage paid by them. I received the new one and had it working this afternoon. Additionally my warranty was up by 6 months, but they said wasn't even a problem. There is a premium paid when purchasing their products, but with customer service like that I'm happy to pay it. Just thought I'd share this with those who are on the fence with ponying up the money for their products.

I just experienced something similar with Aqua Illumination. I purchased some used AI Sols with a Gen 2 controller. However, the down arrow didn't work on the controller. Wasn't a big deal really as I could still navigate through the menus. I contacted them just to see if this was something that could be repaired. They sent me a new (refurbished, I'm sure) controller AND included return postage for my controller. Didn't even blink an eye about it.

What was the problem with the pro. I currently have the Gen2 and thinking about going through the upgrade program to get the pro.

I upgraded from the Gen1.

There was no power going to the LED pucks or the fan, same supply I guess. I was, however, able to communicate with it. So it could have just been a wiring issue, blown fuse? The power supply was fine.

yea their cs is amazing my friend had a gen 1 that the fan quit on and it would overheat within like 30 mins of running at anything over like 40% and he called and they sent out a new one that got there within 3 days and the same thing happened to that one and they just replaced it no questions asked.

Can't help but swim against the current here. What I'm seeing is this. The product is $600 for a 118w led box. Yet the individual parts are so cheap that when they stop working its NBD for them to send out a new unit. Heck, you already paid for three of them.

Obviously defects are common with these lights. I just don't get it.

well in this case it was more situational than anything he kept the radion too close to the water and salt creep mixed fur from his dogs kept getting in the fan he cleaned it every now and then but it wasnt enough so after the second one failed he put a lid on the tank and that did the trick. the dog hair still gets in it but its much easier to pull out when its not mixed with salt.
